1. Why should I choose the Professional Institute of Massage Therapy?

2. How long is the program?

Our 2200 hr Advanced Massage Therapy Diploma Program can be taken over 2 years (September start) or 18 months (January start). The Sport Training and Therapy Diploma Program is 1 year.

3. Do you have part-time or correspondence courses?

We do offer a part-time program at the Professional Institute of Massage Therapy. Our part-time program is offered during the day and consists of taking our full-time program but not a full-time course load. Our part-time program can take up to 4 years to complete.

Because of our emphasis on hands-on practical learning, our Advanced Massage Therapy Diploma Program is not offered in a correspondence format. Students must participate in our Student Clinic and various Outreach opportunities to gain 200 hours of required practical experience.

4. When do your programs start?

We have two start dates for our Advanced Massage Therapy Diploma Program: January and September. The Sport Training and Therapy Diploma Program starts in September.

5. What is the tuition cost for the program?

The tuition cost for the Advanced Massage Therapy Diploma Program is $15,000.00. The Sport Training and Therapy Diploma Program costs $7,200.00.

6. Are there any additional costs?

Additional costs are Supplies, Textbooks and TCF (Training Completion Fund). A list of supplies to purchase will be provided upon acceptance to our program.

7. Is your college approved for various funding?

Yes, we are approved for CSL (Canada Student Loans).

8. What are the admission requirements/pre-requisites?

Students applying to the Professional Institute of Massage Therapy must have their high school diploma with a senior biology (Physics or Kinesiology would be an asset) OR 1 post secondary science. Along with these academic requirements students must take an Introduction to Massage workshop.

9. What if I don't meet the requirements?

If you are interested in a career in Massage Therapy and you do not meet the admission requirement please contact the College in your area. We would be happy to meet and discuss your unique situation. It may be possible to take some classes that can prepare you for our program.

10. Where are your campuses?

The Professional Institute of Massage Therapy has three prairie locations. We have campuses in Saskatoon, Winnipeg and Calgary.

11. Where do I get an application?

You can apply on this website or contact us and we can mail an application out to you.

12. Do you have campus tours?

Yes, contact the campus in question and we would be happy to give you a tour of our facility.

13. Is the profession saturated?

No, most of our graduates are very successful. Last year employment rates were over 96% within 6 months of graduating from the program.

14. Do you have on-site accommodations?

No, but if you contact the campus we would be happy to aid you in your search.

15. When should I submit my application?

As soon as possible, to ensure space in the program

16. What are the deadlines?

There are no specific deadlines, applications are reviewed as they are received; however spaces are assigned as students are accepted. It is advisable to apply as early as possible in advance of the start of the program to ensure a space.
